The Institute of Botany at Wageningen University conducts plant research at all levels: molecular, cellular, biological, cultural and the interaction between plants, pathogens and insects. The Institute combines knowledge of plant science with other knowledge, working with partners from around the world to study new perspectives on sustainable agriculture.
In order to provide healthy food to a growing world population and maintain a healthy and sustainable living environment, the Institute is committed to adopting climate resistant and circular production systems that minimize the use of fossil energy, minerals and pesticides. These innovative systems contribute to biodiversity and soil quality and are economically viable for farmers and society.
