Wageningen University's Institute of Animal Husbandry is dedicated to exploring the knowledge needed for sustainable and profitable animal husbandry, helping to ensure that eggs, meat (including fish) and dairy products are healthy, tasty and produced in a responsible manner, with due regard for animal welfare and health. Animals play a vital role in the circular economy and research is needed into more sustainable and climate-smart livestock farming. The Institute works with clients to translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions in the areas of livestock systems, nutrition, genetics, animal welfare, and livestock's impact on the environment, specifically developing livestock concepts for future generations.
