The mission of the Institute of International Business (IIB) at the University of Toronto is to focus faculty research and teaching expertise on the changing global environment and competitiveness, and to spread the word about its work. An important goal of the Institute is to develop close relationships with policy advisers in government and business. IIB brings the research expertise of Rotman faculty to economic policy debates, ensuring a two-way flow of ideas by facilitating interaction between government researchers and policy advisers.
IIB supports and promotes economic research on international and competition policy issues. The Institute's vision is to create a global hub for policy makers and the business community to serve as a focal point for networking and interaction with the private sector, policy makers and other academia in North America and abroad. Research focuses on the global business environment, corporate decision-making in the global economy, and the urban service economy.
Under the direction of Professor Bernardo Blum, the Institute aims to be the destination of choice for anyone interested in international business issues. The Rotman Institute for International Business is the platform for many related activities, such as the Policy Economics and Analysis Program (PEAP).
