Established in 1998, the University of Toronto Market Institute is an independent organization of academics, practitioners and industry leaders dedicated to designing market strategies for Canada and acting as a catalyst for improving the efficiency and resilience of Canada's capital markets. CMI brings together the expertise of the Rotman School of Management and the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto to study the most important challenges facing Canada's capital markets and is at the forefront of debate and education in related fields.
CMI's activities focus on four areas: financial innovation, governance audit, securities regulatory reform and climate economic management.
