The Asian Legal Centre (ALC) has pioneered a wide range of teaching and research programs on laws and legal systems in a wide range of countries and regions in the Asian region, including Japan, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Korea, Thailand, Laos and the Philippines. Since its inception, the Center has been committed to providing resources to scholars, practitioners, and communities interested in the Asian legal system.
ALC regularly hosts a program of events related to Asian law-related research areas, including student seminars and seminars. ALC's research topics include Chinese reform, Islamic law, dispute resolution and media law. Aims to promote knowledge and understanding of regional law and the teaching and research of Asian legal systems in Australia, Asia and elsewhere, to promote the development of Asian studies and Asian languages in other disciplines, and to encourage links with legal research to promote the importance of comparative law in Asian legal research and research.
