In 1999, South Korea launched three stars with a ground resolution of 13 meters and a color earth observation camera, which attracted worldwide attention.
In September 2003, it launched Sisputnik-1, Korea's first astronomical space observation satellite, to play a diversified role in the field of domestic space development. The space observations of Sputsat-1 were published in international academic journals, once again proving the utility of small satellites.
The "Science and Technology Satellite 2", which was completed in 2007, is equipped with a radio light meter and a laser mirror. In August 2009 and June 2010, South Korea's first launch vehicle, the Lo Lao, was launched twice, with the goal of launching our satellites, but unfortunately, neither the first nor the second launch failed to enter orbit.
The Luo Lao Scientific Satellite was subsequently developed as the third launch of the Luo Lao Scientific Satellite, and on January 30, 2013, after the third successful launch of the Luo Lao Scientific Satellite, the Luo Lao Scientific Satellite was also successfully put into orbit. On November 21 of that year, a science and technology satellite No. 3 was launched from Russia and safely entered orbit, and the Satellite Research Institute is currently operating the Luo Lao scientific satellite and the science and technology satellite No. 3. "We are also accelerating the development of a new generation of small satellites to develop standardized, modular and low-power small satellites.
In the spirit of "endless challenges and development of space", the Satellite Research Institute continues to play its role as a specialized institution for the training of space development personnel through research and development of advanced small satellites, fulfills space exploration tasks, and contributes to the creation of value for the country through satellite and space utilization research.
