The Seoul National University Advanced Institute of Fusion Technology is located at the Industry-University R&D base in Iidong, Yeongdong-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, Seoul. The Institute conducts collaborative research on the application of the latest technologies in IT, BT and NT for commercialization. Various research centers are currently covered under four research institutes, and research areas remain flexible to best meet society's needs for cutting-edge technologies.
The field of study is in line with the goals and objectives of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Fusion Technology. The institute has 28 research institutes, including intelligent transportation systems, infrastructure security, computer vision and artificial intelligence, advanced electronic materials, advanced energy technologies, graphene, nanomolecules, etc., and research projects are selected according to their originality and characteristics that reflect fusion technologies. Research is expanded or otherwise modified based on the theme and research findings.
The Institute for Advanced Studies in Fusion Technology seeks funding at home and abroad, for research conferences, symposia, as well as lectures and other academic activities for industry and academic collaboration. Each institution will also carry out the latest integrated technology education programs, open to universities and industrial institutions. In order to promote collaborative research, the Centre for Industrial and Academic Collaboration is responsible for creating useful links between large, medium and small enterprises and venture capital firms. In addition, retraining and re-education programs are provided to achieve the Institute's goal of educating and training researchers in cutting-edge technologies.
