EdRedesign was founded in 2014 by Paul Reville, the Francis Keppel Professor of Education Policy and Management Practice at Harvard Graduate School of Education. A diverse leadership team and staff drive laboratory research with extensive experience at the intersection of policy, politics, research, systems building, and practice.
The lab works with local communities to create integrated support and opportunity systems and establish cradle-to-career pipelines to meet the holistic needs of children and adolescents. EdRedesign supports mayors and elected officials, supervisors, and civic and community leaders to redesign, realign and integrate education, child development and health systems to accelerate positive outcomes for all children and youth, especially those affected by poverty.
The Lab vision is to provide every child and youth in America, especially those affected by poverty, with the opportunity to succeed in education and life. Ensure that opportunities are available to all children and youth, especially those living in poverty, and build cross-sectoral, community-wide systems of support and opportunities for children from birth to adulthood.
EdRedesign is committed to advancing a new vision for education and children's well-being, addressing the failure of traditional school reforms to break the ironclad correlation between SES and educational outcomes, and calling for a comprehensive system of support and opportunities that begins in early childhood and continues through higher education and vocational training. The lab continuously explores effective practices and policies to support high-impact cross-sectoral collaboration and personalized planning for success.
