广州国际城市创新研究中心成立于2017年，是广州市人文社会科学的重点研究基地，依托中山大学政治与公共事务管理学院进行建设。中山大学行政管理学为中国公共管理之父、中国市政学之父夏书章教授首创，是中国市政学的发源地，学术传统深远，城市创新与城市治理是中山大学发展的重点优势学科。通过广州国际城市创新研究中心的建设，有利于加大资源投入、整合研究队伍、集中优势力量，加速推动广州国际城市创新研究高质量发展，形成国际先进创新经验。

广州国际城市创新研究中心积极利用现有平台开展活动。对接广州城市发展需求，面向社会宣传研究成果是其中重点。基地通过大众媒体深入浅出地宣传研究成果，推进研究成果转化，以城乡综合整治、城市社会治理、市政管理和跨行政区协同治理为主要研究方向。

Founded in 2017, Guangzhou International Urban Innovation Research Center is a key research base for humanities and social sciences in Guangzhou. It is built by the School of Politics and Public Affairs Management of Sun Yat-sen University. Founded by Professor Xia Shuzhang, the father of Chinese public management and the father of Chinese municipal science, administrative management of Sun Yat-sen University is the birthplace of Chinese municipal science, with a profound academic tradition. Urban innovation and urban governance are the key and dominant disciplines in the development of Sun Yat-sen University. The construction of Guangzhou International City Innovation Research Center is conducive to increasing resource input, integrating research teams, concentrating superior forces, accelerating the high-quality development of Guangzhou international city innovation research, and forming international advanced innovation experience.

Guangzhou International City Innovation Research Center actively uses the existing platform to carry out activities. The focus of the research is to meet the needs of Guangzhou's urban development and publicize the research results to the society. The base propagandize the research results through the mass media, promote the transformation of the research results, and take the comprehensive urban and rural improvement, urban social governance, municipal management and cross-administrative collaborative governance as the main research directions.
